* 2 months later*

Amanda: i’m coming (she shouted as she headed for the door. She had come to visit 2 days back with Jovita)

After their meeting 2 months back, their love had waxed stronger. Ray had been happy and angry at the same time. Happy for being a father and angry for been kept in the dark all these years. He knew he was also at fault or better put, the architect of the problem. If he hadn’t agreed to the bet and Amanda had found out, there wouldn’t have been any complications. But on a second thought, he realized everything that had happened was God’s will because if he hadn’t agreed to the bet, he wouldn’t had met Amanda and such a beautiful love, wouldn’t have been borne. It was surely God’s will.

Amanda stared at the woman in front of the door with a questioning look. The face screamed unfamiliarity to her.

Ray: sweetheart! Who is at the door? (he yelled from the kitchen where he was helping Amanda with the cooking before the bell sounded.)

She noticed the shocked look on the stranger’s face the moment Ray called her sweetheart. She couldn’t decipher the reason for the shock. Thoughts started popping up in her head which she quickly pushed aside.

Amanda: i don’t know. I think you should check her out yourself. (she held the door wide open for the stranger to walk into the house)

Ray walked out of the kitchen with Jovita in his hands. Katherine and Katherine grew pale. Amanda scrutinized her from her position close to the door. She wondered why someone would wear such revealing, ungodly and utterly disgusting clothes to a guys house. Thoughts flooded in again which she pushed aside almost immediately with just one thought in mind; TRUST.

Ray: hi Katherine. What brought you here?

Katherine: nothing really, i was just passing by the neighbourhood and decided to come see you.

‘lies’

Amanda thought as she excused herself before heading back to the Kitchen with Jovita. She was a woman and could easily tell when a fellow woman was lying or what her plans are. And what she saw out there had just one name. “SEDUCTRESS”.

Ray: that’s was Katherine, my boss (he explained to Amanda immediately katherine left.)

Amanda: it’s okay, you don’t have to explain to me, i trust you. (Ray smiled)

katherine breath out and only realized she had been holding her breath for long as she entered into her car. She had felt so intimidated by Amanda’s presence.

And here i was thinking i was beautiful. She said aloud.

Now my plans had been foiled, geez. She continued as she pulled into the main road.

But Ray didn’t tell me he had a wife and a child or could it be that she is his girlfriend or maybe she is his fiancee or maybe……….. Oh geez! What am i thinking, she yelled as she swerved the car to the right narrowly escaping hitting an oncoming car since she had drove out of the lane.

She could hear the driver rain abuses on her but that was the least of her worries. She had better things to look into especially finding who that girl was to her Ray.

Why did she have to be around today of all days?

After all the tutoring and practice i had pup into seducing Ray, all my plans had failed because of some woman who just came out of the blues.

Was it really that woman that came out of the blues or myself? She thought and scoffed.

I think i need to call Chidera, maybe she would have one or two things to say.

She pulled out of the road before picking her cellphone from the pigeon hole to dial her number.

Ray: i think we should enroll Jovita in a school here.

Amanda: and where would we stay?

Amanda had her head on his laps while Ray played with her hair as he sat on the three seater seatee later in the night.

Ray: here na

Amanda: as your what na?

Ray: my wife

Amanda: (laughed) wife ko, wifi ni

Ray: but seriously shey you know i can marry you with just one plate of my deliciously cooked jollof rice?

Amanda: (sat up and stared at his smirked face before laughing loud and hard) deliciously cooked jollof rice indeed. Please something else like your deliciously burnt fried egg or half cooked rice because the last time i checked, you were a great cook in a wierd way (she winked)

Ray: okay, you win. But i’m learning na. Like the one you ate this afternoon.

Amanda: (laughed) i only said the food was delicious so that wouldn’t feel bad so don’t let it get into your head okay. Though you tried than the one you cooked three years ago sha.

Ray: thanks for coming back into my life (she smiled) i love you Amanda.

Amanda: i love you more

their face inched closer by the second, and just when their lip was about to to lock in a kiss, they were both interupted by Jovita’s cry.

That is the second time. They both noted and laughed

“lead us not into temptation” they both recited and laughed again before Amanda ran off to the room. Ray chucked.

He felt complete once again.

There is just one more thing left to do before everything becomes perfect. He thought.
