Amanda stood pinned to the ground. No matter how weak her legs felt, they didn’t give way and the tears which had been like a fountain for the past 1hr has suddenly run dry like there was no water in her tear bank. She had a faraway look as her head brought back pictures of the times she had spent with those two people. She remembered the moments they spent together laughing, talking and sometimes quarelling and wished there was a way to bring back those times.

As hands began to touch her soothingly, she shrugged them off. She wished she could go back to the past and make ammendments. She would give Laura more attention and she wouldn’t leave the country. She would just forgive Ray even though it would hurt her ego.

It wasn’t long before the reality of what had happened hit her. She had lost a friend and then she had lost a love, her life, the father of her child, her luna, her everything. Like someone possessed by an evil spirit, she ran out of the hospital premises and into her car and even her brothers and hospital security men could not stop her as she was ready to knock down anyone and anything that stood in her way.

She drove off defying road signs and narrowly escaping hitting or getting hit by a car. As she swerved her car left and right, she kept glancing at both sides of the road, expecting to see that sign board. As she increased the speed of her car, so did her heartbeat increase and her face void of emotions. Then she saw what she was looking for boldly ahead of her.

Mrs Abraham laid on the floor with her face to the ground. There were tears in her eyes. The thought of loosing another child after loosing one to still birth and loosing her husband also made her heart heavy. She didn’t want to believe it, infact she didn’t want to imagine it.

Her could life be so cruel? She cried as more tears dripped from her eyes unto the ground and then soaking her blouse.
